Background Verification and Induction

Hiring is not the last step in meeting talent demand rather hiring right is the first step. Verifying the credentials and inducting right completes the cycle of meeting the talent demand. Lot of happens due to verification not coming clean or new recruit not inducted well. Talent assimilation is the most critical part of building talent in an organization. However this area still needs lot of focus.

Background Verification : It is important to do proper background verification as around 10% candidates provide erroneous information about academics, similarly information about duration and type of experience some time is not as stated. These fudging of information not only impact hiring decision but subsequently talent management decisions are also impacted. Lesser said is better for checking criminals records .

Induction: First 90 days are critical period where new incumbent and organization build everlasting perception for each other. This can create bridge or block in the way of optimal potential. Also induction is a great way of introducing organization, carrying out mandatory programs such as POSH and creating right expectation in a new hire.
